Swedish Sweet Mustard and Dill Sauce – Hovmästarsås

Classic sauce for gravlax (cold-cured salmon). I made citrus (lemon, lime and orange zest) and dill cured salmon for breakfast sandwiches. This sauce add great kick. You can find it in IKEA stores or make it yourself. Recipe adapted from Whats 4 Eats.

Moldavian Red Pepper and Apple Salsa – Orange Adjika

When my friend from Moldova gave me this recipe I thought again: “Small world”, I already had delicious Green Adjika recipe from my friend from Latvia. This one has funny orange color because of carrot. Sweet, sour and hot, great for salads and sandwiches. Adjika, here, mean hot sauce.

Thursday or Black Salt for Easter – Chetvergovaya or Chernaya Sol’

A traditional Russian seasoning, which is prepared once a year – in the Holy Thursday (Thursday before Easter). The main purpose of this salt – for boiled Easter egg, but it has a lot of hidden meanings, moreover, it is very tasty. Salt gets aroma of freshly baked rye bread. About this seasoning, I learned from the site of Maxim Syrnikov, gatherer of Russian traditions (in food).
