One more way to make orchard’s season – apple chips! Crunchy and sweet, great snack. Adapted from Leanne Bakes.
1 apple (pears will work too)
1/2 tsp. apple pie spice mix*
Preheat oven to 220F. Line baking pan with parchment paper.
Using a mandolin, slice apples as thin as possible. Lay them side by side on a baking sheet.
Gently sprinkle with apple pie spice mix. Bake for 40 minutes, flip the slices, and bake for half hour more or until crunchy. Place on a wire cooling rack.
*For apple pie spice mix:
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
Combine all ingredients. Store in alright container.
