Swedish Sweet Mustard and Dill Sauce – Hovmästarsås

Classic sauce for gravlax (cold-cured salmon). I made citrus (lemon, lime and orange zest) and dill cured salmon for breakfast sandwiches. This sauce add great kick. You can find it in IKEA stores or make it yourself. Recipe adapted from Whats 4 Eats.


2 tbsp. grained Dijon mustard
2 tbsp. creamy Dijon mustard
1/2 tbsp. white or red wine vinegar
2 tsp. sugar
salt and pepper
2 tbsp. fresh dill, chopped
1 tbsp. olive oil

Mix mustards, vinegar, salt, sugar and pepper, slowly add oil, stir in chopped dill. Taste for seasoning, serve chilled.

Is about 153 calories per 3/4 cup, or just 33 calories without oil.
