Strawberry Pretzel Salad

It’s old American recipe from Jell-O times. I love the idea of sweet-n-salt pretzel crust with cream and strawberries.  So I made lite version with whipped cream and fresh berries.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

2 cups crushed pretzels
3/4 cup butter, melted
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 cup heavy cream
2-3 tbsp. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups strawberries

Preheat oven to 400°F. Stir together crushed pretzels, melted butter and brown sugar; mix well and press mixture into bottom of 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake 8-10 minutes, until set; set aside to cool.

In a large bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks are just about to form. Beat in vanilla and white sugar until peaks form. Spread cream onto cooled crust. Let stay about hour in fridge. Add sliced strawberries in top.
