Russian Milk Biscuits or Molochniy Korzhik

Cookies or biscuits named korzhik from my childhood. Made with milk syrup, soft and really good with cup of milk.

Russian Milk Biscuits  or Molochniy Korzhik

1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg, separate
8 tbsp. (1 stick) butter
2 – 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Heat the milk, do not boil, dissolve sugar in it, cool to room temperature, add vanilla extract. Beat softened butter with the egg white. Combine flour and baking powder. Mix everything together to get a soft dough.

Roll out the dough thickness of 1/2 inch, cut out biscuits, get about 12 biscuits. Brush with egg yolk.

Bake at 400 degrees 10 minutes, it is important not to forget about time, because they have to stay light and soft.
