Garlic Bread

Adapted from Betty Crocker site. Traditional appetizer for Italian style dinners. Soft and garlic-cream testy.

1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 garlic clove, finely chopped or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 loaf (1 pound) French bread

Heat oven to 400ºF. Mix butter and garlic.
Cut bread crosswise into 1-inch slices. Spread butter mixture over 1 side of each bread slice. Reassemble loaf; wrap securely in heavy-duty aluminum
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until hot.
