Buttermilk bread

Adapted from Betty Crocker’s Best Bread Machine Cookbook. Creamy and little tart taste of this bread is great for toasts.


1 1/4 cup buttermilk (or 5 tablespoons dry buttermilk powder and 1 1/4 cup lukewarm water)
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3 1/4 cups bread flour or unbleached all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons Instant Active Dry Yeast

Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Regular Bake cycle. Do not use delay cycles.
