Something between pumpkin pie and cinnamon buns – yeast rolls with sweet pumpkin pie filling. Cream cheese frosting will be great addition for sure, but simple powdered sugar is great too.
I love apples – fresh and crispy, or baked with some sweet or savory addition. My first bake at all was Russian Sharlotka – up-side down apple cake. Russians has point about good-for-you tvorog (farmer cheese) – it’s our superfood, so this is one more recipe for breakfast with it. And apples, of course.
It’s apple season, so I try to eat as much apples as I can. This is old Russian dessert or breakfast salad recipe: apples, carrots, raisins and some smetana (sour cream or yogurt). Yes, it’s almost like classic American carrot salad with mayonnaise, but with smetana dressing.
