Lahmacun–Turkish Pizza

It’s similar to pizza, but a very thin crust that is baked to be crunch on the outside but soft in the middle, there is no sauce and no melted cheese. Recipe adapted from Smiling In A Foreign Land blog.


Pizza dough
1/2 lb. minced meat (lamb or beef)
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1 tomato
1/2 tsp. cumin
Olive oil

Preheat oven to 425°F

Lightly oil baking sheet, roll pizza dough into very thin circles, place dough onto sheet.

Top with a mixture of minced meat, onions, garlic, tomato, cumin and lemon. Bake for about 6-8 minutes- edges should be slightly crunchy but center will be soft.

Remove from oven, place on plate and cover with a towel. Serve with lemon and parsley.
