Nutella stuffed French Toast and cherry compote

It’s looks like food porno – hazelnut and chocolate stuffing and bright cherry compote.

4 slices of bread
2 tsp. nutella
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
a pinch of salt
1 teaspoon butter
1 tablespoon powdered sugar

For compote:

1/2 cup fresh or frozen pitted sweet cherries
1/4 cup strong black tea
1-2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Cut bread slices in triangles. Add 1/2 tsp. nutella on half slices of bread and make sandwiches.

Mix the egg, milk, vanilla and salt. Melt the butter in a pan. Dip both sides of the sandwich into the egg mixture.

Cook the sandwich in the pan until it is golden brown on both sides, about 1-2 minutes per side.

For compote:

Place all the ingredients in a small pot and slowly bring to a boil. Turn the heat down and let simmer 5  minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not overcook.
